Now Hosting with MediaTemple

I just bought me some MediaTemple hosting. For the past several years I have been hosting all my sites on my own server. It's been co-located in downtown Lexington with Intelliwire which is a sister company to eLink Design where I had worked for five years. Intelliwire has been awesome to me - providing super-fast connectivity for my server. But I am kind of tired managing my own server and making sure it stays up and is always up-to-date.

In the past, my attempts to prevent hackers from breaking into my server have failed. It's been several years since that hack, but there's always a potential threat out there. It'd be nice to know I have redundancy and guaranteed uptime when I'm traveling the world, so I turned to MediaTemple. They have amazing uptime, redundancy, scalability and service. I have to move all my sites over to them before the end of this month when my DNS account with DNSMadeEasy expires. So if you're someone like Frith, then expect to receive an email from me soon about moving your site.

With the move, I am planing on upgrading the backend to SamPowers.NET. It will also help me to get TwoGuysAroundTheWorld.com up and running. In the meantime, I will use my old server to upload our HD video files that we record during our travels so that someone back at home can download them and back them up. Should be a pretty sweet setup. I hope it works. :)
