So, my truck's water pump has failed and is leaking. This means, my engine is unable to cool itself which in turn could make it over-heat and blow-up into a million pieces like a glass pyrex bowl that has been badly mistreated. So that's definitely a BAD thing, so every day I have to fill my radiator with a few gallons of water and pray that it doesn't get cold enough to freeze this anti-freezeless mixture of pure water. A buddy of mine at work, Andon Sawyer said that he could fix the pump for me. THANKS Andon! I love you, man!
I finally found a program that would let me run Macromedia Dreamwaver MX on Linux. It's called CrossOver and it's made by the same people who make Wine. CrossOver also lets me run Adobe Photoshop 7 on Linux! Those are the two programs that were holding me back from switching to Linux completely and it costs only $40. Right now I am updating this site using Dreamwaver on Linux to see how well it works. It's a little slower than using it on Windows, but with more RAM I should be fine. Once I finish building my "massive" PC, this should hopefully run smoothly.
More and more people are donating their computers to Guatemala using DonateMyComputer.com. I hope my parents aren't mad of me using their house as a massive storage facility for these old computers. The living room is busting at the seams, and the down-stairs is getting filled up. This means I am going to have to spend a crapload of time trying to figure out what works and what doesn't so that I can build these "FrankenPCs" out of the best parts.
All of these computers will be running Linux. That is what I hope to teach when I get to Guatemala, is server administration with Linux. Mark Smith emailed me and said that Shalom got rid of their old computer teacher for the school, so when I go down there, I will be the teacher for the whole school! They are trying to find a person who has some computer-knowledge background who knows English as well that I can train and they can take my place when I leave.
