So I woke-up yesterday morning and realized that I had to set up all the donated computers for Guatemala, pack for vacation, study for finals, and try and get a passport all before Thursday. Yes, I lost my passport. Before you laugh at this injustice to passport-security, I must argue that since the passport was set to expire in 2005, it would have undoubtedly expired while I was in Guatemala, thus forcing me to get a new one several thousands of miles away from home at an embassy in a foreign country. So all in all, I think it worked out ok other than the fact that I have to pay over $80 in fees to get a new passport in 7-10 business days.
So I had an Anthropology final today, but since I spent the whole day getting documentation together and authorized for my passport, I was unable to study for it. Yes, I know, I should have studied before the day of the exam, but it's just been in the back of my mind while Guatemala is in front. I spent several hours configuring one of the computers over this past weekend only to have it CRASH on me after I was done. BLASTED HARD DRIVE!! That will make the third hard drive that has crashed on me in the past two days.
After upgrading Memaw's internet connection, she wrote an email to all of her buddies saying, "It really feels good to have something in the house that is high speed beside the cat on the back porch. I use to get this good feeling when I went to Krogers and got in the fast lane. Now I am cruising at home." She is blazing now! :)
